I recently shot Lumiere Fantome, a haunting tale based on the life of the Oakley brothers who built what is now known as the Lake Worth Playhouse. I play the role of Clarence Oakley's wife, Leota, who tragically dies and haunts her husband until his death. The film also stars Peter Marzilli, Gregory Albrecht, and Suzanne Niedland. Lumiere Fantome will make it's world premier at the L-Dub Film Festival at the Stonzek Theater on September 17 (5-10pm). Hope to see you there!
I'm currently taking Mr. Burt Reynolds' Master Acting Class at Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT). I'm excited about learning everything I can from this living legend and honing my acting skills to become the best actor I can be!

In my most recent stage play, I played the role of Blanche in the Lake Worth Playhouse production of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs, directed by Lisa Bankert and Richie Lester. It ran November 20-December 13, 2009.
Check out the Talkin' Broadway review of Brighton Beach Memoirs by John Lariviere. Here is an excerpt: "Stephanie Haber has a calm strength on stage whether paired with Steve d'Oliveira as her husband, or Amy Hoerler as her sister Blanche. The three actors interact beautifully together." Read the rest of the review here.
Oh, and how cool is this review of Brighton Beach Memoirs? The author writes, "I was impressed with Amy Hoerler who I felt gave a terrific performance of [Blanche] a single mom raising two daughters, living in the Jerome home."

Woody Bavota has cast me in his film, Power of Purpose, filming in the Boston area in 2010. More about the film (including synopses) can be found via this link.
I played Louise in David Spaltro's feature length independent film, ...Around, starring Rob Evans. The film has been screened at Tribeca, selected for the Hoboken International Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, and the Idyllwild International Film Festival. It continues to make its way around the film festival circuit. The reviews keeptrickling in. Check out what critics are saying and find out more about the film at aroundthefilm.com. I could not be prouder of David than I already am. In fact, I knew he would make this movie before he ever made it. I'm grateful he cast me in this wonderful film of his. And hopefully, he will continue to be successful in the business of making them!
A big congrats to my fellow acting friend and fellow a)LoStCrEaTiVe alumni Jasika Nicole for landing a role on the new JJ Abrams hit show, Fringe. She's a talented actress that has been in other well-known projects and is an amazing artist, as well. Way to go, Jasika, on your awesome career!

Justin Owades' short comedy, It's All Relative--a film about a revealing family get-together--was shown at the Delray Beach Film Festival on May 8th, 2008. In it, I played the role of Lauren Feldman, sister-in-law of the lead character. The film was also part of the NewFilmmakers NY Film Festival, which was shown at the Anthology Film Archives January 2008.

I was nominated for "best supporting actress" at Lake Worth Playhouse's annual awards show for my role in Modern Orthodox. "Thank you! It's an honor!"
I made my Florida stage debut as Rachel Feinberger in the Lake Worth Playhouse production of Modern Orthodox by Daniel Goldfarb. Read the BroadwayWorld.com write-up for more info.

I starred in Nicholas Collura's bittersweet short, Mother & Child. Filmed on location in Rhode Island, the film is about a "distraught single mother (me) who withdraws from society to an empty and abandoned beach house seemingly at the edge of the world, where her young daughter (Emma Nanamaker), growing increasingly alienated by her mother's brooding angst, begins to receive visions of an angel (Marianne Schuck)." Premiered April 28, 2007 at the Whitney Humanities Center auditorium at Yale.
Award-winning writer/director Lulu Wang's independent short film, Can-Can (based on the story by renowned author Arturo Vivante) is "a bittersweet story about marriage and infidelity, devotion and guilt." In it, I play Sarah, the 'other woman'. The film is now being submitted to various film festivals across the country. Visit the Can-Can website for more details and information.

I play vampy call girl, Cherie, in Minos Papas' Indie feature film, Shutterbug.

I'm enjoying my fresh, new InStyle makeover! I was one of three women selected for InStyle Magazine special issues Makeover Fall 2006 edition ("Three Degrees Of Coloration"). Thanks to InStyle Magazine (Lauren Lipton, Jordan Barnes, Gina Way, Karen Pearson), stylist Harou Noru, and celebrity colorist Rita Hazan of Rita Hazan Salon.
I star opposite Jan Leyssens as Anne in Tamas Lassu's science fiction short, Lustre (part of The 48 Hour Film Project). Screened at Landmark's Sunshine Cinema in Manhattan on April 27, 2006 at 7pm. Required elements for the film were: J. Splain, Window Washer (character), photo, drawing, or painting of a pet (prop), and "That was when I was young and naive" (line of dialogue).

Wake Me When It's Over is a short independent film written and directed by award-winning film-maker, Lana Bernberg (Jerome Foundation Grant Recipient, 1999). It's a "lyrical and elusive story of young women's plunge into depression as she wrestles with her identity". Unfortunately, the film has been shelved and has not been submitted to any film festivals.

As Angela in Wake Me When It's Over
I played 15+ different roles in the hit controversial hit play, I'm Gonna K*** The President! A Federal Offense, which was staged at PS 122 in Manhattan.
Below is a portion of a review from BroadwayWorld.com, which 'secretly' mentions me (oh, the controversy!)

Staying in? Rent The Guys

Did you catch me on Law & Order (episode "Gaijin")? I played a top reporter trying to get the scoop about the murder of a prominent Japanese model visiting New York (I was in the middle on Jessie L. Martin and Will Yun Lee for an entire scene--no lines, but still neat!)
I was one of the five actors on Bravo TV's Do You Have It Contest, a national talent contest based on acting ability, creativity, performance, and originality. The winner of the contest, Ingrid Sanai Buron, has become quite famous and has gone on to appear in numerous television shows (i.e. House) and in film.

I have wanted to be an actress since the age of 5. I have always had the desire to create characters and present them to an audience. It was only after the tragic events of 9/11 that I decided to pursue my dream of acting.
In late 2002, I started my acting career, stepping on stage for the very first time. Shortly thereafter, I started in film.
Due to family circumstances, I left NYC with my husband and dogs, making my home in Florida. I'm hopeful that I will continue to work in film and theater, and that someday I'll land roles in major film and television projects.
